Willkommen - Basel!

Guten tag!

We arrived in Switzerland on Monday evening after a long tumultuous journey, no thanks to the likes of Air France (& domestic partner in crime, Delta). However, the lovely food and wine on the 9+ hour flight over did make up for some of it - danka!

We're settling nicely into our cozy furnished studio apartment provided by Novartis. I've spent the last couple of days gathering the basics: food, pillows, a fan, and of course a scented candle to make the place smell nice and a flower for the windowsill. Our complex is located in what's called, Badischer Bahnof, to the northeast of the Rhine River. One of Novartis' campuses is located right across the street, and every morning that is where Brian catches the Novartis tram to work on the main campus just over the river. Brian's enjoying his first few days on the job. Everyone is very friendly and he's excited about his summer project.

We're looking forward to the many offerings this lovely country and culture have to offer. I've been busy visiting the Information center in Old town Basel, on the other side of the Rhine plotting out upcoming travels and excursions for this weekend and beyond.

Here's a glimpse into the past few days of our new adventure, Switzerland!

Switzerland, the playground of Europe, awaits! In just one week's time we will depart for this wonderful little country, where we will be living for the next two months.

Based in Basel, Brian will be interning with Novartis, the second largest pharmaceutical company in the world. I’ll be working on writing projects along with documenting our adventures; and perhaps even taking a yodeling class or two!

Team Feth is looking forward to yummy chocolate, fondue dinners, and new adventures in all things Swiss!
