It Was a Meeting of Four Feth's - Part 1

Long long ago in a way way far away place known as Kenya in a month called April there was a very important gathering of four Feth's. The Ohio Feth's joined the Kenyan Feth's for a convention on all things safari and fun. Over a period of about a week and a half the dynamic foursome put on their explorer hats and ventured out seeking adventurous excursions around Nairobi, Massai Mara and Lake Naivasha.

The following are photos from Part One of the Four Feth's Amazing Kenyan Adventures!

An important introduction to one of our close friends in Nairobi - Mr. Giraffe

The Ohio Feth's met our colleagues and friends from work
(colleague and good friend Pauline featured here :))

After a couple of days in Nairobi we headed off to Massai Mara

This is the airport and the 12 seater plane we flew in on

Right away we set out on safari and several animals were anxiously
awaiting our arrival

We settled into our cabins at the Royal Mara, along the Mara River, and enjoyed several safaris over the following few days

We spotted a bat-eared fox hiding in the tall grass

A young male lion looking off in the distance

Enjoyed views of peace and calm on the savannah

There was a face off between man and elephant

On one of our safari days we enjoyed a lunch picnic out in the wild open

It was a grand affair

Brian really connected with nature

I too enjoyed myself immensely

We had to take a quick time out to help another safari vehicle in need. A French family had been stuck in the mud for well over an hour but luckily our super guide John saved the day!

We spent an afternoon visiting a local Massai village

The chief took us into one of his houses and told us about his villages and way of life.
He showed us a calabash - a gourd filled with mixed cow's milk and blood

Brian's dad chatted it up with the chief as the rest of our Feth crew
looked over the market of goodies and crafts

To our delight we saw this mother cheetah and her young cub
just as we were heading back to our lodge one evening

A sleepy hyena was spotted basking in the sun

A male water-buck was caught lifting its' head up after a large bite of grass

The breathtaking moonlight over a quiet Kenyan night

Our adventures in Massai Mara had finally come to an end. It had been a splendid journey for the four Feth's but more adventures were just around the corner!

Here we are waiting for our plane to arrive to take us back to Nairobi
